One of my greatest strengths as a teacher is my ability to discern whether or not a student has understood a concept. I recognize that students learn through different methods and I know how to present complex information in a variety of ways so that a student grasps the topic. I believe in having students demonstrate learning by performing activities and exercises that reinforce presented material. My degrees have taken me places that I never thought they would. I was excited to teach English in a school in Costa Rica for one year. There I was able to learn Spanish quickly as well as help elementary school children learn English. I taught grammar as well as science. I also tutored on the side in all subjects. Previous to this experience I tutored a fourth grader in geography, history, and spelling. In college I used many skills that helped me to prepare for teaching. A short list of these skills is math, creative writing, computer skills, memorization, and art work.
