I have earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Secondary Education from Western Michigan University, and I am currently taking graduate courses at Western, working toward a Master's degree in the Practice of Teaching. I have been substituting in Michigan and Indiana schools, including two long-term substitute positions, including New Buffalo High School, in New Buffalo Michigan, and Kessling Middle School in La Porte, Indiana. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies from Purdue University with a focus on Modern English Literature. I have also spent several years as a full-time substitute teacher for a number of Northwest Indiana city school systems including Portage, Westville, Michigan City, LaPorte, and Valparaiso. During my teaching career, several teachers were happy to request and recommend my services for long term teaching assignments, including a four month assignment to a sixth grade Language Arts class for Michigan City Public Schools.
