A Little Bit About Me...

I have three children who my wife and I have homeschooled over the past ten years. I have an associates degree of applied science and criminal justice and a bs in interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis area on criminology, sociology and business. Not only being a teacher, tutor and mentor to my children I have also taught Sunday school for grades first through fifth. I help mentor teenagers from the church during the summers. I have also used tutors mysef and know how beneficial they are and hope to be as benefial to others as they have been to me. My experience in tutoring computers, German, Spanish, and the higher level English, Math, Science, and Social Studies courses are with my children and friends.

I realize that learning reading and writing skills can be difficult. When I teach young people, I work to push each person patiently but constantly to improve with each lesson. Each person learns a little differently, and I like to learn the student’s strengths and weaknesses and work from there. I support hands-on learning. There is only so much a person can talk about writing. The best way to learn writing is to write. The best way to improve reading comprehension is to read. Reading unlocks vocabulary. And a good vocabulary helps in written and verbal communication. My passion for teaching these skills comes from my belief that they matter and that I’m helping someone with a skill that will help them succeed.

A Little Bit About Me...

I do not have any direct experience teaching or professionally tutoring in English. However, I am very proud of my English skills, and I look for opportunities to help others develop theirs. I entered one year of tutoring experience because I believe that I have equivalent experience through assisting others with their class assignments or professional documents.
