Each Certified teacher has the ability and skills to individualize the teaching style, based on the child's learning style. Due to this, we offer for the teacher or tutor to do an assessment on the first session at the same fee as the tutorials. Once they do this, they are required to teach or tutor in the style fit to your child's learning and other skills for their potential and to help them reach their academic goals.
We are a tutoring company with a team of tutors and Certified Teachers. Each teacher and tutor is required to be experienced and have an education related to the subject or field they tutor or teach. Our teachers are required to be experienced and familiar with teaching in addition to tutoring. We can discuss each one's individual experience and credentials when you call. My comments on tutoring Marine Biology : I took a semester of Marine Biology and received a strong 3.5 in the class.

I always liked playing up my quirky personality. My favorite teachers and professors were the goofy ones, the ones who can relate to the students' fun side. These teachers also challenged me the most, and I ended up getting so much more out of the course. I figure that, if a student likes the teacher, he or she will pay more attention and have a deeper respect for the teacher. The teacher then can use this trust to push the student a little more, intellectually. I find that is what works best for me.
I don't any paid, professional tutoring experience. However, I have volunteered my services to family members and friends. During my sophomore year, I took Organic Chemistry and excelled. However, my friends were struggling. They hated me a bit for how easy it came to me. I decided to tutor them and help them with homework assignments and studying. They ended up doing very well on the ... read more

More About This Tutor...

Throughout my undergraduate years, I was recognized as an outstanding student and held the maximum number of teaching assistant positions every semester. I often met students in the library to hold tutoring groups, and I handed out my phone number in case someone needed my help anytime. I am currently working on my teachers certification, and my long term goal is to teach high school science. I have a passion for education and science, and I believe that my purpose for benefiting humankind is to train the future men and women of our country.
My preferred method of teaching is hands-on, through real experiments. Unfortunately, experiments cannot always be done, so I use lots of illustrations and age-appropriate analogies that are easy to relate to. Many times students are convinced that science is a subject too difficult to conquer, that they must just survive it, but science i ... read more

More About This Tutor...

While earning my BA in economics from The University of Texas, I also completed all my pre-med courses. This has provided me with a strong background in mathematics, social sciences, and natural sciences. I have always had a strong aptitude for integrating concepts from different disciplines and exploring how they relate to one another. This skill is useful when explaining new ideas to other students in terms that they can relate to.
Attitude is the biggest obstacle when trying to learn something new. I try to make the learning process as fun and interesting as possible. When a student is struggling, I believe it is vital to build their confidence towards success. It is important to not make them feel overwhelmed, but to show them how to conquer a problem step by step. I can help provide the tools that your child needs to realize his/her ability.
