My teaching style is differentiated teaching, as this combines many different learning styles and is able to reach most, if not all studens. I teach using many different hands-on activities, as I believe that it teaches real-world applications. I believe in texts/paper assignements but always try to back up the assignment with some type of real-world experience/scenario,; whether it be having the student give a speech, act out a script or physically demonstrate a concept or a combination of all of the above.

I began teaching as an emergency substitute 3rd grade teacher. After 2 years, my husband's career took us to NY, OK, and PA where I continued to teach Religious Ed and substitute in parish schools. I worked as a legal assistant (financial, transactional) for 13 years prior to law school and after obtaining my JD - Cum Laude, I completed my BSLS requirements. I have taught Civil Procedure I and English as a Second Language at the local community colleges (legal assistant program and adult education program). For the past 7 years I have been teaching in a private school setting. Although classroom sizes are small, I am required to teach multiple subjects. This year, I taught 3-7 grade Latin, 5th and 7th grade social studies, 5th grade grammar and writing, and 5th grade reading. In the past I have also taugh two half years of 10th grade English. This setting requires flexibility and quick adaptability. My training as a social worker has also facilitated teaching children with dyslexia and behavioral issues.
