To me education is a way of life. My academic career has been driven by a thirst for knowledge. I have earned a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, during which my math, physics, biology, engineering (mechanical and electrical), and other science skills were cultivated. Afterward, I spent another year pursuing a M.S. in Biomedical Engineering, which further strengthened those skills. During this program I was contracted to teach biomedical computer science for sophomore level students. With higher academic hopes, I left the M.S. program, to complete a Ph.D. in Biophysics with an emphasis on MRI physics. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is patient, encouraging and uplifting. I like to encourage students to try things that they feel that they are incapable of. I like to provide lots of examples and demonstrations with my teaching in order to insure that students fully understand what is being addressed. I hold a bachelor's degree in art education and a master's degree in arts management. I am believer in providing a bottom-up approach to mathematics. I first present a difficult problem to the student to find where their current level of expertise lies. Once I identify potential issues the student is having, I break the difficult problem into smaller problems which are easier to handle. I believe students need to start with easy problems, multiple examples, and heavy guidance. Then, I provide increasingly difficult problems until an abstract concept is obtained without my assistance. I encourage students to teach me concepts themselves, so they can put the problem into their own words by explaining it to me. I feel every student can achieve success with mathematics, even if they are very artistic-minded.
