I have been teaching piano and voice for almost 15 years. I started at the age of 5 taking piano lessons and the age of 12 with voice. I majored in musical performance in college, but left early to pursue a career in a Broadway Touring Company of Les Miz. From 1996-2014 I've been a professional singer and actor in many different shows and venues. I have 3 children and have been married for 10 years. I love working with people to build confidence.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have had several years experience of teaching throughout my schooling from college education, personal experience-being the oldest child/grandchild, daily experiences, and now being a parent of a young child. I've always known I would be a teacher. I loved my teachers growing up & I had a natural curiosity to know what it was like to help others. I hold 3 degrees-AA in Elementary Education, BS in Early Childhood Education, and MA-in Education. Even though I do have my degrees, I feel grateful to learn everyday. I feel that daily experiences make us smarter. I know that learning something new everyday makes me proud of myself and others, and very thankful that I have the opportunity to learn new things.

A Little Bit About Me...

I grew up with both partents in the public education system, I was a student-teacher in H.S. and I earned a bachelor degree in Parks, Recreation, Natural Resource Management with a minor in Art Education. After graduation I taught Art and pre-school classes for the Springfield, MO Parks Dept. I was a librarian at the Springfield Art Museum. I worked for the Dept. of Social Services, Div. of Youth Services for 14 years and assisted the teachers with the education ciriculum. I taught Outdoor Stress Challenge Programs to the youth in a rehabilitation program.
I enjoy teaching and working with children. I believe every child has a different way of learning and I am capable of meeting the needs of each student. My teaching style is is very "hands on." Once I know what learning style my student is,I manipulate my instruction according to their different learning styles whether they be visual, audio, etc. I am a firm believer that every child can learn, as long as they have the support they need. As a teacher, I consider myself to be patient, encouraging, and easy going. I try to make my student feel as comfortable as possible, and that depends a lot on the atmosphere of the room and the attitude of the teacher. As a working professional, I was driven later in life to get a degree that was started right after high school. I initially had 90 course hours towards a Social Work degree, and when I returned changed it to business. I have a BS in Business Management, and I only have one class left to get my Masters(MBA). This has allowed me to have a vast bit of working experience in math and accounting. I have exceptional grammatic skills, due to weekly submitted papers in each class.
