Teaching is a passion of mine. I love teaching and working with children. I strongly believe all children can learn, but in different ways. It is very important to find what works for each child. My goal is to give 100% to each student and expect 100% in return. All students are able to shine when they are given learning experiences that are appropriate. I excel in making a difference in all of my students'. I have earned my Bachelor Degree in Psychology/Elementary Education and I am currently certified to teach Birth-6th grade. As a student in college I began working in Early Childhood Education and continued until recieving my Certification in Elementary Education. I have an AAS in Human Services, a BA in English and Psychology and hold a MA Certificate in Elementary Education. I taught First, Third and Fifth grade for a total of five years before starting a family. My children are now both in school and I have been both a volunteer and substitute at their Elementary School. I recently organized and ran the Elementary Science Fair for over 100 students. I am a professional singer, actress and dancer who has taught throughout my 15 year career. I truly love teaching, especially in a one-on-one or very small group setting. Currently I teach private lessons in: piano, voice and acting. I also teach small-group: Piano, Acting, Choir, Learn to Read Music, Creative Movement, Pilates, Boot Camp, Kick Boxing. I also work with the local home school community as a 'tutor' for math and English. I believe in mentoring. It does take a few times for the student (young and old) to understand that I cannot teach them anything. I can present information to them and attempt to inspire them to learn, but they are the ones who ultimately teach themselves.
