My comments on tutoring Elementary Math : I love teaching math and believe in using lots of hands on things to help students understand what they are doing. I also believe students neede to memorize the basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts.

I have enjoyed very much working with children and I know that every student has his own learning style and my teaching must be adapted to them. I am patient, even with children who do not speak fluent English and I seek to encourage them to seek success. I believe a solid foundation is the key th success.

I began working with pre-k age group as a lead teacher for the four year olds room. After leaving that placement I started working with high school aged students as a substitute. Working with these young adults reinforced my belief that if a student does not have the basic skills learned early in their education, it is very difficult to go back and relearn them.
