A Little Bit About Me...

I have a love of learning and understanding that extends to math and science. This gives me an enthusiasm for my subjects that my students have said makes me a more engaging and enjoyable teacher. I also understand that learning a new subject requires a firm foundation to build upon, and so I continually reinforce the basics and previous material while I work my way up in a subject.
I have tutored math, biology and chemistry for the last 5 years at a college level. In math, I tutored up to the trigonometry level, as well as holding math seminars lasting as long as 2 weeks. I worked for over 2 years as a study session leader for various engineering courses while getting my B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I also tutored several students in engineering classes at the college level. I have experience working with elementary through high school students as well.
I have a passion for helping people, and nothing satifies me more than helping a person understand a concept and succeed in his or her class. I teach using a lot of examples and incorporating the concepts into the example problems so that the student can see how the examples are based on the concepts.
