I love teaching and believe that the teacher is part of the learning process on many levels. I have taught middle school students reading, English, and mathematics for 10 years. I earned my bachelor's in Elementary Education from Utah State with an emphasis in mathematics. As a middle school teacher, I have found that one of the main reasons students struggle is that they have reading deficits. This prompted me to pursue a Master’s degree in Literacy. I have worked for ten years as a certified surgical technologist. Two years ago I took a position at Eastern Idaho Technical College as a part-time instructor for their surgical technology program. I will graduate this spring with a BA in general studies. I have taken a variety of college classes over the past several years, and this has enabled me to understand a variety of subjects.
