I received a BA in General Business from WSU, and was honored as a Cum Laude graduate. The courses were varied and included a wide array of math application, from supply and demand curves to interest rate calculations. My classmates gave me the nickname "Webster" because I was frequently asked to edit their papers and to tutor them in several different subjects. I love working with teenagers, and watching their faces change when they really GET a concept for the first time!
I believe students will rise to the level of expectations set for them. I am a bit of a comedian, and I use humor to allay frustration in learning situations. In grade school I was the kid to whom others turned for help. In high school I found myself tutoring my friends in subjects as diverse as plane geometry, algebra, latin, and essay writing. It was not until I was working to earn my BA in English literature and volunteering as composition tutor in the English department language lab, however, that I discovered the real joy for me of one on one instruction.
