A Little Bit About Me...

I have always been driven to learn and pursue and education, this led me to completing my bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in history from UC- San Diego. I enjoyed tutoring math, science and english while in high school and continued in college. After graduating I volunteered in Chile teaching English which greatly improved my teaching skills and improved my Spanish Language abilities. I currently work as a substitute teacher which allows me to continue to gain teaching experience while I work towards a full credential
I am very patient and outgoing with students, I try to gain a good understanding of where there are at in order to help them understand what is needed and how to achieve their goals. I strive to make a positive impact on my students lives in and out of the classroom.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love what I do for a living. I love teaching and coaching and have always wanted to be a teacher. I believe all childeren can learn given the opportunity. I believe students have their own unique intelligences and learning styles. My role as a teacher/ coach is to identify those intelligences and styles and deliver subject's content using strategies that support those intellegeneces and styles. I also believe in helping students find the intrinsic motivation to work hard and not give up when subject matter is difficult.

As a reading tutor for the past two years I used a variety of approaches to help students increase their reading skills. I assisted students in improving their skills through phonics and leveled readers. I also kindled students’ interest in reading, found books that interested them, used arts, crafts, games and storytelling in relation to reading, and helped students create personalized journals for expressive writing.
