During my undergraduate years, I often found myself tutoring fellow students. Eventually I got a job working for the math and science tutoring center on campus. I tutored students in my own classes and others, and I also helped teach a vertebrate anatomy lab. I am currently a Master's student in biology, and while biology is my field, I am also an accomplished writer. I feel comfortable helping students in a variety of fields, especially basic mathematics, science, and writing. I am a creative, patient teacher. I know that everyone learns differently, so I try to come up with many different ways to explain a concept. I love to see the sudden understanding in a student's eyes when they finally understand a difficult concept. This is what makes teaching an addictive and highly fulfilling activity for me.

I am always driven for the desire to learn. I hold a B.S. in Biological Science and minor in Chemistry. In addition I took additional courses in human physiology, and anatomy. In my line of work I am training sales force from U.S. and Latin America (Spanish) on new technological applications that pertain to advancing business for my employer. I have extensive laboratory experience, and have had a chance to train lab personnel on lab procedures and theory. I enjoy teaching and love seeing the results of the teaching and learning experience. In my teaching style, I try to show the reasoning behind the subject matter covered. I strive to nurture the discovering side of the student. I have tought at many levels adults, teens and Jr high age on multiple subjects.

Conversational. From what I learned in Taiwan little kids are not for me. This is the truth. Kids at about 14 or 15 and older are much preferred. I don't think I am animated enough for younger children...well, not a GROUP of younger children anyway. When it comes to one on one though, it is much different I am sure. I like to give ideas on how to sound out words, remember grammar/math tricks and things like that. I double majored in Biology and English with a Bachelor of Science degree from a very well known, highly esteemed University in Wisconsin. I went to Taiwan for two months from March-May 2010 and helped teach in a "Bushiban" or cram school to kids aged 6-15. I am currently looking for a full-time job relating to my degree.

As ambitious a student in the classroom as in life I have completed over 180 college credits at age 24. With a preference in sciences most of these credits were completed however my interest expands far beyond the realm into most every subject. Proof of this is shown by the length of my undergraduate work, six years with enlightening pauses in between to broaden my mind through travel. Biology is my strong suit however math such as physics, calculus and even chemistry are heavily influenced in the major. At San Diego state I have completed the majority of these subject units. This institution is considered the number one small research university with a little help from students such as myself. Teaching is one of passions as I am always interested in learning.
