My comments on tutoring Trigonometry : You need to know your basic if you are tutoring calculus

Have a PhD in organic chemistry. Have been teaching assistants in almost undergraduate level chemistry classes (general chemistry, organic chemistry, and analytical chemistry) during graduate school. Have more than 13 years tutoring experience. Paid my undergraduate college education through tutoring and scholarships. My strongest subjects are chemistry and mathematics.
I would like to explain a global picture of a class material, what to expect from learning the class. All of this is not to scare students, but to mentally prepare them with the challenge ahead. I like to give my student quizzes after the tutoring, just to make sure they understand. This is a feedback process, so I could adjust my tutoring style accordingly.

I have five plus years experience in tutoring students of all ages in all areas of math. I have tutored in math ranging from pre-algebra to calculus, and I also have experience in working with students with learning disabilities. I enjoy a challenge, and I enjoy helping students to see math in a different light. It does not have to be hard when you can make it fun. Almost all of my students have successfully brought their grades up from D's and F's to A's and B's.
I don't have one specific teaching style... I believe the style should be developed based on observing how the student learns best. One style would not be successful with all students. Very patient. Usually I will explain the concept, present a practice problem, and double check to make sure he or she understands how to do it. But if possible, I will teach differently in the most effective way.
