I would describe my teaching style as being essentially constructivist. I strive to show students how the subject matter is relevant to them and help them see the benefit derived from mastering a subject area. I try to analyze the student's learning style and their current weaknesses in order to tailor the instruction to meet their needs. I believe I am patient and respectful. I believe in inquiry based learning, or teaching any subject by incorporating the student's natural curiosity and drawing connections to their interests. I don't taking a long time to teach a student how to approach a single problem or concept and foster their understanding of the material so that they will understand how to approach the problem on their own. In other words, I put energy into explaining why they should do something so that they can reason through it themselves in a test situation.
