A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that involving the student with as much hands on learning as possible, helps them in being able to relate with and withold what they are learning. My approach is to help the student understand what each problem requires and to devise a “plan of attack” to solve the problem. I try to help the student avoid the notion that “every problem is a new problem,” but instead to look for patterns and similarities to problems they have already successfully solved. I also encourage the student to keep working on basic arithmetic skills and to work review problems from previous units in order to sharpen their techniques.
