My comments on tutoring German : I am proficient in German, having taken the equivalent to 4 semesters of the language in College.

I work hands-on, using examples. However, I am readily able to adjust to new learning styles!
I have taken creative writing and journalism courses. I have experience in the journalism field, and won an award for one of my stories. I have also done much writing on my own, including writing a full-length novel (in the works of being edited with hopes of publication). I am an avid reader and my reading comprehension/writing scores on tests have always been well above average.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching experience began during high school when I would help out at my church's Sunday School providing remedial services like handing out papers. Since then I have earned a bachelor's degree in finance and economics with ambitions to earn a PhD. During my undergraduate experience I tutored beginning accounting students for a couple hours a week aside from the usual work of helping classmates. Upon graduation I began looking other ways to continue teaching. About 10 months ago I began volunteering at a community center. There I partnered with another gentleman to teach English as a language to immigrants. It was so much that I decided to make this a weekly ritual. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BA in English and a Master's and Ph.D. in German (Germanic Linguistics). I have taught English literature as a substitute in junior and senior high schools, college level German, linguistics, English reading and writing and English as a Second language. I have taught and tutored children and adult learners. My teaching experience has been in Germany, California and Minnesota. I also tutored ACT/SAT in Minnesota.
I enjoy teaching students of all ages, individually or in groups. I find the Socratic method most useful, and with children this translates into making the subject (i.e. German grammar) seem like a puzzle that, with some effort, can be solved. I think students are best served when they can discover these answers for themselves.

A Little Bit About Me...

Ever since elementary school, I have known that I wanted to spend my life in the Physics field. Academically, it enabled me to excel in my Physics science courses I enjoyed the work so greatly that I would strive for perfection, and often do more than was required. I have been involved in a number of research projects that allowed me to use the theory that I learned in class in a more practical manner. This confidence can only be reached in a relaxed environment where the student does not feel judged or threatened. As the grandson of a French immigrant to the US, I have always shared a close connection to France, it's culture, and beautiful language. After falling in love with French film I added French as a second major, graduating with a BA in 2007. During school I had the opportunity to substitute teach middle school and high school students.
