I am an Orton-Gillingham certified and Barton Advanced certified dyslexia specialist with over a decade of experience working with children and adults who have dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and ADHD. I also know Lindamood-Bell(r) and several other programs. I provide assessment/screening for learning challenges, and recommend programs/approaches that will be successful for that student, homeschool support, and referrals to other tutors as needed.

Being a Metropolitan State graduate, I understand first hand what an impact that a good education can have on urban students. I have done a lot of teaching and tutoring, both with adults and young people. Most of my experience, though, comes from working with high school and junior high school students. I spent the majority of that time as a tutor/ mentor and would work with the students one on one or in small groups, both in the library or in the classroom. It was really the most wonderful experience and I was able to provide tremendous benefits to the students on both an academic and personal level.
I really do place something of a premium on being able to connect with all of my students on an academic and personal level. I believe that this helps them as they know that their teacher and tutor cares about them and their future and, as such, this causes them to grow and excel. I can attest to such things happening with many of my students and for that I am incredibly thankful.
