A Little Bit About Me...

I started working in the school system in 2001 volunteering as a tutor for at risk kids. I tutored numerous mathematic course for over 6 years. I have earned a one bachelor degree in biology and hope to earn my second degree in mathematics as well as in education. I have learned to do research and solve proofs. I worked at MUS biology lab under Dr. Gary Ervin for a year and I did research on wetland and plants. I have written numerous research papers and have numerous skills in the labatory. I have also tutored in biology, and chemistry.
I don't have the certification to be a teacher but I have been student teaching since seeking a degree in biology. I love working with students. A Little Bit About Me...

From 2007 to 2010, I worked as a math tutor at Huntington Learning Center in Pasadena, CA. I spent a lot of my work there helping high school students get ready for the math portion of the SAT, but I also worked with students on their school studies (in calculus, college and high school algebra, and geometry). Most recently, I spent about five months working as a math tutor at Sylvan Learning Center in Jackson, MS. Most of the students I worked with adhered to the "Sylvan Curriculum" so that they could improve their basic math skills. However, during this time I also had a handful of homework support students. These students studied geometry, college trigonometry, and GRE and PRAXIS test prep.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with all people young and old. When teaching someone, for me the most important thing is to get them to grasp the actual technique and reason for why something is important and how it is used, not just a strict memorization. Throughout my four years of teaching, I have challenged, motivated and inspired my students to do things and accomplish tasks and problems they never thought possible. I love my students and wish them nothing but success. Students learn differently and I strive to meet all these unique needs.
My goal, as an educator, is to knowledge assessable to all of our future, the youth of today. My love for the sciences and mathematics gives me the desire to reveal this passion with students in hopes that they too might share in this love.
