Using varied instructional strategies is a technique I have practiced when working with students who are struggling with a particular concept or subject matter. The key to learning is to be engaged in and excited about the learning process. If a student is struggling with a particular subject, establishing a connection to that subject is essential. I have found that the best way to teach students is to have them do, not listen. Most students at any level are very unmotivated to learn if someone is lecturing at them or working at a pace that is above what they are able to accomplish. I tailor my lessons to the students needs and provide ample opportunities for practice, revision, and remediation when necessary. I want each student to feel a sense of accomplishment every day and I strive to help each child with whatever it is they may need.
