I have a fun learning approach that I use. I use the latest technology to satisfy the technological students in which I help. I have been involved with youth for a long time as scoutmaster and as coach in recreational soccer. I enjoy working with children, especially if they are willing to learn and improve their skills and knowledge. I assess the student's grasp on the subject and determine where assistance is needed. Using various means I then help the student to get the knowledge needed to achieve academic success. As a student in high school, I became fascinated with Chemistry and went on to earn a BS in Chemistry. Although I graduated with a BS in Justices and an AA in Criminal Justice, I found myself feeling better working with youth rather than adults. I found myself substituting for elementary schools in Bulloch County and I have loved working in the classroom ever since. I am working towards passing the GACE and finding a school system that will hire me on provisional level. I love working with children because they are truly our future. I search for the light bulb that hasn't yet gone off in my students. Rote memorization by my students just to get a grade doesn't satisfy me, although that happens with some. I thoroughly enjoy the intellectual challenge of trying to stimulate my students and interest them in the learning process. I probe; I question; I challenge; I confront. If the student doesn't "get it", then my first assumption is that I'm not doing something right, and I need to try again. I may fail, but not for lack of trying or interest! I have extensive experience in all areas of corporate accounting and financial and cost analysis as a management consultant and line manager. While earning my masters, I began teaching as an avocation, and found that I thoroughly enjoyed the didactic experience.
