As a mechanical engineering graduate at USF, I have taken a wide variety of classes in a wide variety of fields that have broadened my horizon. I am currently persuing my Masters degree in mechanical engineering. Also, I have learned extensive grammatical skills as well as writing research papers and lab reports, along with other reports in my engineering backhround. During the last five years I have spent four of them tutoring classmates and peers alike in engineering as well as other fields. I have two younger brothers, ages 14 and 15, who I feel have made me that great tutor that I am today. I performed group literacy tutoring and one-on-one math & literacy tutoring for children ages 5-13 at The Learning Center. I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering from USF. I currently work as a design engineer for Pall Aeropower. I currently tutor my 3 children (ages 10,9,4) and some neighborhood children in all math & science related subject. I consistently tutored my fellow students during my years in college in subjects such as Algebra, Calculus, Thermodynamics, and Fluids. I like to start with where the student feels comfortable, then go from there. I do not dictate, but listen and understand first, then try to explain in a style the student likes. I am happy to get into other areas learning if the student or parent wishes. 10 years experience training space operators for US Navy and US Air Force. Training includes orbital mechanics, space operations, and computer operations. Education includes 10 semesters of calculus, differential equations, and other higher math. I believe in being an active teacher helping an interactive student. Let the student be a major part of the program and I will be there to guide and correct if necessary. Teaching is keeping your participants attention by interacting with them...you can't imagine the fun they can have and still learn. While in college, I tutored students in high school in lower level math and reading. I also taught swimming to high school students. During my tenure in industry, I was able to train less experienced employees in measuring tools and their use (calipers, Mics, feeler gauges, etc,) so that they might get a better position in the company and I received accolades from the home office for my efforts.
