I have been an elementary classroom teacher for 14 years. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd and most recently 5th grade. I have worked with students who have a variety of needs: both academic and, behavioral and emotional needs. I have a reading certification that allows me to do reading remediation with student in Kindergarten through 12th grade.

I love the one-on-one part of teaching. Connecting with kiddos, seeing the light bulb turn on in their faces. One of the reasons I am no longer teaching is the special ed paperwork was getting to take up more time than the teaching was. Plus I now have 2 small children at home. I really miss the one-on-one part of teaching. I know there is more than 1 way to teach every concept in math! Showing a kid this, is very important! Also showing them that it's okay to be scared! That all it takes is some patience and someone to guide you though it and math can be conquered!!!
