I have a great deal of experience in educating students. I have earned my BA from Northern Illinois University in Communications, and I also have earned my MAT from Rockford College in Education. I have had my Type-03 Elementary Teaching Certificate since April of 2009. I have worked as a special education aide, student taught sixth grade language arts, and in the past year I have been a substitute teacher in Winnebago and Ogle County. I have taken many classes in reading, writing,and grammar. I have learned different ways to learn, as well as as different ways to teach and I would enjoy sharing my knowledge.

As a young adult, freshly graduated from high school at the age of nineteen, I chose to enlist in the military to, among other things, have the opportunity to travel and experience other diverse cultures throughout the world. These profound experiences have shaped the person I am today and have been instrumental in fostering my curiosity and resolution to better understand people from other cultures. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe a great teacher needs to have proper skills and talents for teaching. I learned a lot while growing up from a great teacher; my mother. My mother was a teacher for thirty years teaching elementary grades. I learned a great teacher needs to be respectful, patient and to be able to illustrate the lesson in an easy, simple way. I try to provide simple analogies for each concept. This enables the student to grasp the concept easier and faster. In addition I help my students to learn better by asking few questions about the concept. This will help them to truly understand the lesson by using their analytical thinking.

Every student is different, therefore every student has different needs. Every student also can learn differently, whether it be by incorporating more or less visual learning strategies, auditory learning strategies, or using more of the "hands on" approach.
