I can relate best with the student/youth.

I attended Rufus King World IB High school in Milwaukee, Wi, one of the most prestigious inner city high schools in the country. I excelled in IB Geography, Chorus, and Theatre. I was one of those kids who never did any homework, but passed my tests. Everyone came to me for help on projects, homework, ect. I feel that I didn't fully utilize my strengths in school as I could have, so I would love to share that with those who need it now.
Very relaxed, easy going, friendly. I feel less pressure and non stressful settings help students learn better. They can relate to a younger person who is more in tune with youth and someone who understands them.

Initially with each student I identify his or her strengths and weaknesses with the material. While building on their strengths, I attempt to change their perspective towards the course material that seems difficult. I love working with and teaching children of all ages. I believe that each child is unique and is capable of learning in his or her own unique way. I myself am a visual and auditory learner, so I am very open to all types of teaching styles. I find that people learn better when several avenues of learning are available for a subject. A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently still in school at NCSU, with one more year left to obtain my degree with Middle Grades Science and Math. I have had experience tutoring and mentoring students in the past. I worked with elementary and middle school aged students for about a year at the Method Road Community Center in Raleigh, NC. For my degree, and a requirement for a previous class, I had to have field experience in a school. I was at West Cary Middle for about 4 months working with 8th grade students.
