I would explain to the students the rule of grammar in French and the rule of mathematics, set up some problems for them to resolve and this way they have a very good understanding of the subjects and able to perform on the subject independently.
I had volunteered my time to tutored some kids in my neighborhood. This was the time while i was in college. I have tutored the subject of Math 8th grade level and Math in the second grade level. I have volunteered to tutored a friend in college the subject of French at Hunter College. She received a good grade and was happy. I was able to make a good impact on their learning and achievement.

Over 13 years of working with students that were not scholars initially. After learning skills to improve their educational/learning experience, they became more scholarly, and enjoyed learning. This is key. They just need to change their perspective, and learn how to make "learning" enjoyable, like it was in kindergarden.
My teaching style is interactive, many of my former students would characterize it as "coaching". I always empower the student to find their way and to have them become "pros" in the learning process. I do not do the work for them, but I show them how they can make their tasks and finishing them more efficient. I am a firm believer in the philosophy that edication is not preparation for life, it is life itself. Experience is key.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have recently graduated from Purchase College with an Undergraduate degree in Music with a minor in English. During School I tutored students in English composition and edited students essays and papers during the entirety of my undergraduate education. I have also taught voice and music theory to students privately. In High-school I scored a 97 percent out of 100 on the English regents exam. I recently received a full scholarship to complete my masters at the University of Maryland.
I will fit my teaching to the client. If a student learns with visuals, I will use visuals. If a student is an aural learner, I will cater to that side. Working with students and education has been a part of my life for about 11 years. I first began doing so in high school, around 1999 working as a volunteer with the YMCA. Eventually I became a counselor and would work my way up to Camp Director. I am proud to say that I am the first of my family to attend a University. Currently I am a senior at Cuny Lehman College in the Bronx, NY where I study English Literature and minor in Secondary Education.
