Psychology is one of my top subjects! I am a recent graduate with a BA in Psychology. My coursework and knowledge cover a wide variety of topics within Psychology, such as Psychological Testing, Social Psychology, Stress and Coping, and many more.

I have experience teaching children ages 4-6, including both neurotypical and autism-spectrum children. I also have informally instructed college-aged individuals whose first language was not English on the proper use of various English grammar structures. I have been studying the Japanese language since 2000, and piano since 2001.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have recently graduated from Virginia Tech where I majored in Biological Sciences. This included biology, physics, and chemistry as focus points. My tutoring experience has been volunteer work. Throughout my academic career I have always helped others, from explaining difficult concepts to peer reviewing papers in college. I have also been a substitute teacher at my local high school since 2007. I recently worked under a doctoral candidate on a research project about warblers. My most recent rewarding interaction with kids has been been the result of functioning as a mentor for the LC Bird High School robotics team. I've have been able to motivate many general students to join the “robotics geeks”. I find that all students have something valuable to add to the team if they are just approached and guided appropriately and offered respect.
