Biology is one of my top subjects! BS in biology from UT San Antonio; graduated Summa Cum Laude 2005. GRADUATED 2010 with top honors from med school. Have utilized knowledge of biologic sciences on a day to day basis for the past fourteen years because of job, school, and surical resident training. Having fun is a requirement. Learning in an environment where stress is taken out of the equation is paramount to retention of knowledge and key to success. I utilize anecdotal methods to convey concepts so that a student can relate the knowledge to how it fits into their own life or past experience.I try to get around rote learning when possible. However, when pure memorization is unavoidable, I have methods to incorporate that are tried and true and still hinge on the foundation of using anecdot. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that anyone can learn any subject if you give them the proper tools. Setting goals and meeting them is only part of the battle, Knowing what when wrong and how to fix it is the other half. Living with an LD gives me an appreciation of the time it can take to learn; and that not everyone can learn in the same way. I prefer a hands-on and organized teaching style where I can make connections to real world examples. However, I do know that each child is an individual and learns differently.
