I believe this is due to the manner in which students are tested; in order to fully understand a concept, the student has to be able to explain the concept and its application in his/her own words. By starting from the basic concept of the field of study and working up, the student can acquire real knowledge of the subject. A Little Bit About Me...

After receiving my teaching degree in May 2004 I was a substitute teacher in Washington State for 6 months. Then I spent the next 27 (Jan. 2005- Apr. 2007)months working as a Teacher Collaborator in the United States Peace Corps. Upon successful completion of the Peace Corps I moved to London, England and taught 6th grade from 2007-2010. During that time I did 1-1 tutoring with 10 children for a total of 100 hours. Tutoring was primarily in Math.

I have completed all courses for my Associates Degree and was a trainer at my previous position. When in high school, I was a college preparatory student and graduated with a high school Diploma as well as 12 Advanced Placement courses and completed my International Baccalaureate diploma.
I love teaching all grades and levels. The most important aspect of teaching is to know your student. Each individual learns in different ways, some are tactile learners, some are visual, and some are auditory learners.
