I have a relaxed, stress-free teaching style, while staying on task and topic. I make sure the pupils really understand the material by breaking things down to the basics, and reviewing the foundations. My comments on tutoring Life Science : BS in biology graduated Summa Cum Laude UT San Antonio. Graduated top honors medical school. 2 YEARS surgical/medical resident training. Have treated thousands of patients and had to utilize knowledge of life science on a day to day basis for years.

Having fun is a requirement. Learning in an environment where stress is taken out of the equation is paramount to retention of knowledge and key to success. I utilize anecdotal methods to convey concepts so that a student can relate the knowledge to how it fits into their own life or past experience.I try to get around rote learning when possible. However, when pure memorization is unavoidable, I have methods to incorporate that are tried and true and still hinge on the foundation of using anecdot. See one, do one, teach one is also another way I like to use. The student sees/learns, then does/uses what they've learned, and finally teaches the information back to me and/or someone else. A Little Bit About Me...

While at Virginia Tech, I dedicated much of my time to volunteering. Here I fell in love with serving others. During this time, one of the programs I volunteered for was an after-school teaching program. Here, I tutored elementary-aged children in english, science, and math. I enjoy helping others learn!

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that a student who lacks the basic fundamental skills in reading and mathematics will struggle to stay focused in class and continually be disruptive and ultimately stop attending school. My teaching style is consistently accommodating especially to these types of students.
