As a high school student, I tutored elementary and middle school students in their homes. In college, I tutored elementary age migrant children after school in english, math, and with homework studies. I was the valedictorian of my graduating high school class and one of the top high school math and science students in the nation, but I was not always a stellar student. For instance, I received a “D” in math in the second grade. I attribute my transformation to an "A" student at least partially to my third grade teacher in whose class my math grades improved dramatically and I jumped from the lowest to the highest reading group.
