Mike's Guitar Studio is based on the belief that the students needs are of the utmost importance. The Studio is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals. Lessons are catered towards what the student wants to learn. There is no one method that works for each student. Each student has different ways of learning, we recognize this and apply it to our teaching policy. The Lessons should be a fun and positive experience as the student progresses on his or her instrument. The primary instructor/ owner, Mike Benninger, has a B.M. in music performance from Keene State College and a M.M. in music performance from the Yale School of Music. Mike's Guitar Studio is located in New Windsor in Mike's Home Recording/Music studio. Recording can be an added tool for recording lessons, songs, pieces, and ideas.

I believe it is the responsibility of a teacher is not only to present the material in a clear and organized way but also to show excitement and love for the subject. Enthusiasm is contagious; students will be excited about learning a particular subject if their teacher is eager and excited about teaching it. Part of teaching is to convince the students that the material is not only knowable, but also worth knowing. I believe all students can succeed under the right circumstances. A Little Bit About Me...

Although I have only held my BM in Music Education for a little over a year, I have always sought out opportunities to hone my skills as a teacher. While I was still earning that degree, I was the person many of my peers approached to help them understand music theory when they were stuck. None of them failed their tests after a few extra lessons with me. Since graduating, I have been working at a special education school as a one on one aide, and I am constantly making effort to coax out the musical side of my students, often with positive and exciting results. Tutoring friends and students in voice production, part-writing, music theory, and instrumental music has prepared me to be the best tutor I can be for budding musicians.
