Shakespeare is one of my top subjects! Over the last year, I have developed a very strong passion for Shakespeare. I have taken multiple Shakespeare-specific classes and received A's. I also frequently study his work in my free time and run a blog dedicated to Shakespearean critical analysis.

I am new to the tutoring field but am very passionate about the idea of helping others learn. I am currently minoring in English and am planning on furthering my education by obtaining a Master's in Shakespeare after receiving my Bachelor's in 2016. The subjects I have chosen to tutor are those I am very excited about, and I hope to share that excitement with those needing assistance. My comments on tutoring Shakespeare : 33 years experience as a high school English teacher

I particularly enjoy one-on-one teaching; I also enjoy asking students questions to draw from them the knowledge they are seeking.
I have taught English at the high school level for 33 years, both in public and private school. Currently, I am an instructor for a GED class. I team taught with a special education teacher for several years and encouraged the private school where I taught to hire a special education teacher at the high school level. I have taught all levels of English, from vocational English to low level students to honors students.

A Little Bit About Me...

I like to make learning an experience. I typically try to relate certain problems or topics to the child's actual life to make it easier for them to learn. I feel as if the best way to learn is to have fun.
I am an honors high school student and I have never made anything below a B in any class. My specialties are math and English, being that I receive the highest grade in the two subjects. During my last two years at Shorter University, I was employed by both the Shorter University Writing Center and the Shorter University Periscope (the newspaper). I spent those two years tutoring students on the composition and structure of essays, and helped them edit and proofread their work. As an editor for the newspaper, I was a mentor to all of my staff writers, as well as a contributor myself.
I believe that the best way to teach a child or student is by listening to them first. By understanding what they see in the subject, I am able to put what they need to learn into perspective for them.
