My comments on tutoring Marketing : Beginning marketing class, junior level

Depends on the needs of the student. In my first meeting with best friend's daughter, I gave her a sample quiz to fill out to gauge where she was. Then, we began to work through areas where she was having the worst issues. I focused on those and explained things to where she could better understand. I had her do homework then we went over it the next time we met. At the end, I had her take a comprehensive test over areas we had covered that helped to prepare her for the test. I worked with her closely and was pretty much hands on in terms of teaching style.
I don't have much experience in tutoring students. However, in what experience I have, has been limited to college students and my my best friend's youngest daughter. I think kids are great. The time I spend coaching a group of teenagers energizes me. I find the key to each child’s personality and try to connect with them individually. I like to joke and have fun with them. My style is casual on the surface but makes for an enjoyable experience. Kids look forward to my time with them and they leave having learned much more than they realized. Learning can be and should be fun. Everyone enjoys success and achievement. My goal is to help each child reach his or her potential. The best way to do this, is to first identify the child's learning style. When this is defined, projects should be tailored to fit that style. I prefer to use a hands-on approach to any subject and present each idea being studied in numerous ways.
During the past two years, I have taught Medical Terminology at the college level. Previously, I wrote and presented workshops for early childhood education teachers. Not only did this allow me to teach, it required me to continue my education in all academic areas. With a bachelor degree in Human Services Management and an associate degree in Medical Technology, I have gained much experience in Math, Science, Management and Public Speaking.
