A Little Bit About Me...

I am caring, kind, and like to break things down to explain them at the level that people are functioning on. I believe that all people learn differently and it is a good teacher's job to find each child's leaning style and create opportunities for all children to be engaged in a way they will respond to.
I have a passion for children. I have a degree in Child and Adolescent Development, and have spent the past year working with low-income preschoolers. I am also to spend the summer tutoring some of my former students to prepare them more amply for kindergarten and reinforce skills. In addition, I have been tutoring a co-worker in spanish. Because of my degree and experience, I am qualified to tutor algebra, basic biology, psychology, sociology and spanish to the intermediate level.

I personally believe that in order to unlock the learning potential in a child that you must first get to know the child and his/her abilities.Establishing a positive and trusting relationship can make all the differnce in the world to a child. Every child is different. You must make the material that they are learning relevant to their everyday lives. I believe in creating an enviroment so that learning is exciting not intimidating.
