I try to make learning fun and relate it to things that people experience in the outside world. It's so satisfying to 'see the light bulb turn on' when they are shown, for example, how a pinecone represents the Fibonacci series, or a fern a fractal.
My formal education includes a B.S. degree in Chemistry and an M.S. in Chemical Engineering both from Purdue University. I enjoy teaching and took the opportunity to serve as a Chemistry T.A. I tutored fellow students in medical school in chemistry as well as several junior AF enlisteds that were seeking to go to medical school. Additionally, I have tutored the children of some of mmy friends in both HS and college level chemistry. I have been involved in teaching anatomy and physiology for one year to nursing studentsand during my career in medicine I was involved in continuing education programs for my nurses as well as collegues.
I prefer a one on one teaching program and encourage questions from my students to try to follow their needs rather than an arbitrary program of lectures. For the last 8 years I have been involved at some level in educating college students in general, analytical, and physical chemistry at the Florida State University.
