I love teaching. I earned my BA before I was old enough to vote. While my classmates were in his/her senior year, I was teaching. Eventually I earned my M.Ed. in Reading, then started School Administration and Adult Education. In all these fields I find similar necessary skills: patience, co-operation among staff and colleagues, knowledge of subject matter, communication with the community and parents and a well defined curriculum. A Little Bit About Me...

It has been my experience that each student has his/her individuals needs and that each learns differently. Thus, I make a conscious effort to sit down privately with each of my students so that we can address his/her concerns effectively and put together a constructive plan to improve his/her skill set.
As a tutor with Webster University's student literacy corps, I worked with individuals, pre-K-adult, on reading, literacy, and writing skills. I held this position for two years along with a summer position tutoring Algebra and French with HEC Upward Bound, which service at-risk youth. I love teaching students, especially when I get the chance to engage them one-on-one. I find that teaching in a public school, I do not get to do this nearly often enough, which disappoints me, for I feel that many students do not really connect with the learning process until they have individual, personal attention. I really enjoy tutoring. I love watching the students gain confidence as we work through the problems. I believe my attitude and approach to teaching helps the students.
