My comments on tutoring Writing Skills : I am NYS certified in Literacy (grades 5-12) and English (grades 7-12), although I have several years of experience with children as young as Kindergarten.

Holding active NYS certifications in both English and Literacy has had a tremendous impact on the way I teach. I find myself much better able to engage struggling students. My comments on tutoring Writing Skills : I have taken many English and literature lectures in the past that required 8 or more length papers.I also write short fictions and still contribute them to free sites available to the public.

I went to college and obtained a degree in Fine Arts ,I've had many paintings and works shown in the galleries . But my main reasoning for going to college was not to learn how to but to become better and merge my self in the depths of art. Fine arts is a career that is opened to many forms of art besides drawing and painting ,such as sculpting and printmaking , but the main one is the knowledge and skill.I feel that have it all and and if You let me i can teach you to enjoy and take in as much as I did when i was learning.

I have recently retired after 30+ years as an elementary special and regular education teacher. For the past 15 years I have also worked as a tutor for the city of White Plains. I have done extensive private tutoring for the past 20 years. For 17 years I worked as an elementary special education classroom teacher at New York Hospital in an out-patient day treatment program. My teaching style is interactive, many of my former students would characterize it as "coaching". I always empower the student to find their way and to have them become "pros" in the learning process.
