Often times, students fail to see the real life applications of higher level math, and this can be a frustration. I emphasize the real life examples and applications of complex math and science. I believe anyone can understand math and science if they have a patient, understanding, and insightful mentor who can break down concepts into simple steps. A Little Bit About Me...

Throughout college I had extensive experience working with classmates while we solved math equations and physics problems together. I did volunteer work teaching English to children in Mexico as well as teaching English to college age students in Mexico.
I like to first get an idea of what the student knows about the problem.. I find that the more time I spend listening to what they know it naturally turns into what pieces I need to add-in. Unless they came to the session to learn new material that would be a different scenario entirely in which it would depend on the student how I taught. I would have to find out what type of a learner they are. Whether it be a visual learner, if they need examples or are an entirely conceptual type of learner.
