I'm in my senior year of High School, I have worked with my siblings on their school all of my life. I've helped my little brother who has ADHD with his homework, I've worked with him through book projects, spelling tests, history homework, pretty much anything and everything. I'm also very talented in the English area, writing and grammar specifically. Can write with both my right and my left hands, I work well with children no matter the age.

I was in a program called "Study Buddies" all four years at high school. I would devote a couple afternoons a week tutoring middle school students (and eventually high school students). During this time I would help them study for tests, complete assigned work, or help clarify any material that the student didn't understand. Also, I helped these students develop their writing and grammar skills. Starting my junior and senior year of high school, I began "one on one" tutoring with selected individuals. Study buddies was a program where several students would show up and the helpers would assist accordingly, but when I began tutoring I specifically met with them at assigned times. Hidden Talents Tutoring

My tutoring style focuses on understanding concepts, not simply getting the right answers. This emphasis improves retention and helps students apply their knowledge to new problems. I teach a variety of memorization techniques, but if the student understands a process or formula, memorization is often unnecessary. Whenever possible, I use hands-on exercises, manipulatives, and exploration to help students visualize abstract concepts and discover principles for themselves. Rather than giving answers easily, I ask questions to lead the student in solving problems. I am patient and have a talent for explaining technical information to non-technical people.
