I worked with a variety of ages from k-12. My most recent experience has been with students in elementary school. I worked for a semester teaching children about sustainable practices and the benefits of buying produce from local farms. While I am most comfortable with high school students, I have great communication skills and can work well with all children.

My comments on tutoring Creative Arts : Undergrad Degree in Theatre

Teaching Theatre for 11yrs- grades Pre-k through 12. Along with English 1-4 for High school.I have been actively involved in theatre for 17 yrs. Writer of plays and currently writing a TV Sitcom which was my thesis for Grad School. I have a MFA in Creative Writing for Film and Television. Experienced, creative teacher who will make learning fun.

I have a very hands on approach because I worked with small children. I believe children learn by doing. If they are interested, you won't have behavior issues.
I spent one year as a day to day substitute teacher working all over York County in various special education classrooms. My second year was spent as a long term substitute at an alternative high school for boys where I taught all subjects. My third year I started teaching Specialized Preschool and did this for many years until I retired last year. My students had many exceptionalities. I had typical students visit my classroom every week to read to my students. I did leave Lincoln Intermediate Unit #12 one year to teach in Baltimore, Maryland. I taught kindergarten-first grade to children with Autism and speech issues. I have 3 grown children of my own who I helped in school.

Individualized learning/teaching for optimal comprehension

I started tutoring in my teens helping young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders develop English and Math skills as well as speech therapy and public speaking. I tutored my fellow students while attending Carroll Community College in English 101 and 102 as well as Creative Writing. I then moved on to being a one on one with high school students with special needs in the Baltimore area.
I take a hands on material approach to learning/teaching. I feel that young students learn best when they can physically learn, such as through blocks/puzzles/interactive learning devices and other similar approaches. I try to let the student use their hands as much as I can to aid in their learning process. I have enjoyed teaching children since an early age. In high school, I started my own dance studio. I also began piano lessons in my home as well.
