This experience has been so fulfilling, that I am diligently pursuing a career change from Information Technology professional to teaching. I also taught mathematics for one year at a private school.
Students generally perform better with hands-on practice. I provide multiple opportunities for hands-on and guided practice as time permits. Associate new concepts to familiar ones. Rather than tell the student the answer, I find a way to allow the student to discover the answer him or herself. One way how I do this is by asking the pupil smaller leading questions in order to put the pieces of the bigger picture together.
