American History is one of my top subjects!

I love tutoring students because through my experience I have learned that one on one time can be really beneficial to all students. During this time I am able to really talk with students to figure out what their specific needs are. I can also help students learn specific study and reading skills. My comments on tutoring American History : I minored in history as an undergrad, and had a few courses in American history.

I finished as an undergraduate with a major in economics, and minors in history, philosophy and religion. Next I worked for a year as a political risk analyst for a large multinational company helping them evaluate risks inherent to investing in unfamiliar environments. I found I enjoyed the work, but wanted to get more economics training with the hope of teaching economics. I moved from the for-profit company to their non-profit foundation that sponsored economic research, and spent the next 4 years evaluating grants in the area of economics, public policy, law and political science. I always found that one of my favorite parts of my job was teaching those I supervised about economics and government. I would then use this is my lessons so they enjoy the learning process. Children enjoy learning anything when it is taught in the appropriate way. A Little Bit About Me...

As the child of a school system administrative professional, I have always spent extra time in the school environment. As a high school freshman I began to tutor elementary school students based on the needs highlighted by their teachers. I spent a lot of time working one on one with English as a secound language students. I assisted with their writting, reading, and basic math skills. Additionally I work particularly well with withdrawn children who need special attention.
My teaching style is simple. As it has not been professionally nurtured I have taken my ques from those I have taught. It is simply to provide what is needed. Some of us are visual learners and some are auditory learners, and many of us learn with a combination of styles.
