I have been teaching in Chico, California for the past 26 years. I have experience with grades K-6, but really prefer 2-5th grades. I have tutored for many years, helping struggling students catch up with their peers. I have many tricks and resources to use. It has been my experience that students are more successful if they can apply and practice any theory to which they may be exposed. Given this notion, I try to provide real world applications to whatever concept I introduce, whether teaching in a classroom setting or tutoring one on one. If this approach is not appropriate, I will break down the concept into the simplest possible learning steps. I will use whatever approach that best blends the complex mix of individual learning style and subject matter to achieve a successful learning experience for my student.
