A Little Bit About Me...

I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University. The field of industrial engineering draws much from statistics. Therefore a large portion of the curriculum is comprised of statistics courses. I have a background in basic statistics, regression analysis, data mining, design of experiments, statistical forecasting, and quality control. During my master’s program I taught a weekly session for the undergraduate course, statistics for engineers. I also provided one on one tutoring during a teaching assistantship for an undergraduate business course which taught operations research basics.

No one teaching style works with all students, or even a majority of them. I enjoy the challenge of finding ways to make academic subjects interesting and relevant to different students. I usually use a combination of guided discovery, question-and-answer, and hands-on approaches to teaching and learning.
My broad-based educational background gives me a firm foundation for interacting with students on a variety of levels. I have taught both French and Mathematics at the college level, have tutored Math, Physics and Chemistry at the college level, and have substituted in high schools and junior highs as well.
