My comments on tutoring Elementary Science : I have been a teacher for 27 years and have a masters degree in reading although I have taught all subject areas. I have taught grades 2-5.

I taught third grade for 15 years in Galena Park ISD. I became a content mastery teacher for 2 years. I then taught art for 2 years. I received my masters in reading and became a reading specialst. I have been a reading specialist now for 8 years and I am currently employed by Schertz Cibolo University City ISD.
My style is varied depending on the needs of the student, however, I mostly use tactile/kinesthetic styles with the use of visuals and manipulatives.

My comments on tutoring Elementary Science : I am a classroom certified teacher and also been tutoring in this area for over 5 years.

I have over ten years of teaching. I have taught ELA,Reading comp, math, science at all levels. I have taught in public schools, private schools, charter schools and at post-secondary institutions. I have been a tutor since 2003 where I worked with Sylvan Learning Center before starting my own education consulting service.
I try to narrow down my students's areas of strength and focus on areas that need more practice. My approach is open but effective.

A Little Bit About Me...

I've always had a love of learning, and have naturally slipped into an informal tutor role with friends. During high school I took several AP tests and at the same time earned the International Baccalaureate diploma, so I understand very well the pressures involved. My two bachelor's degrees (Computer Science & Engineering) give me a strong foundation in math and science. I have experience as a teaching assistant for undergraduates. In addition, for several summers I participated as a volunteer in my public library's reading program, working one-on-one with children of all ages. I feel quite confident in English thanks to my habit of recreational reading and writing, along with extensive experience writing papers, reports, and the like.
