I have over 5 years of tutoring experience. I independently tutored in Physics while in my Junior and Senior year earning a Bachelors in Physics and minor in Mathematics. I have extensive Math skills and taught Calculus, all levels, at the San Antonio College for several years. It was then that I found out how much I enjoyed tutoring Calculus. I also have a Masters of Science degree awarded from the UT Health Science Center in Medical Health Physics.
I will eventually obtain my PhD in Medical Physics so that I can teach the subjects I have a passion for at the college level. I do have experience teaching high school students as well. I have a straight forward approach to teaching. I get to the point and cater my teaching approach to the individual since not everyone learns the same way. My teaching is simple and easy to understand, no complicated terms unless the student is ready.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been actively involved in Church youth work for the past twenty years. During that time I have mentored two to three high school students per year in algebra, chemistry, biology and physics. Basic math and science is critical to their future success in our hi-tech world and if they are willing to learn, I am willing to teach. Teaching has always been part of my professional career and I authored several technical training manuals during my years as the senior research engineer for Mobil Oil. My educational background includes a PhD in Chemical Engineering and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Illinois.

I firmly believe that you learn best when you're having fun. Once a topic fascinates you, your mind automatically engages more, which helps you remember better. So I work to draw students in by keeping things interesting, using fun examples, humor, and applying things to areas they will actually care about. I want to make you actually WANT to learn.
