While serving as a division chief in a major Army Command, I had the responsibility to hire and mentor dozens of interns and recent college graduates. I have earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting, which has provided a detailed understanding of business and math. I have learned extensive grammatical skills while writing technical documents and correspondence.
I have the patience and discipline to assist students in learning. I believe any child can learn if provided positive reenforcement. While you lead by example, you must require the child to learn by trying and failing on their own. As an Education Director at a Boys & Girls Club, I taught in the non-traditional sense, through after school literature-enhancing programming of various kinds. I instructed K-12 students, and even parents and staff, on many different levels of achievement and ability, so I am very acquainted with diverse populations and accomodating their educational needs through creative tools and approaches.
Since my years as an undergraduate student, one of my passions has always been giving back to the community through tutoring and mentoring.
