I believe that learning is the goal of life. While there are successes and failures there is always learning. Teaching is a priveldged position which requires integrity, honesty, humility. Teachers are duty bound to their students. Teaching is more that just imparting subject matter knowledge, it is about advancing a students critical thinking and ideally advancing their sense and belief in themsleves. All students can learn and it is up to the teacher to find the right method and style to make the greatest impact. I have been blessed with several great teachers in my life. As an engineer and manager, training employees was an integral component of work performed throughout my ten-year professional career. I created systems and procedures, followed by training and "tutoring" for successful implementation. I also worked for the university during my college years as a Chemistry coach. I tutored students 20-hours per week for four years, providing one-on-one and team services. In high-school, I tutored elementary students in mathematics and reading. More recently, I participated in the HOSTS program, which is a program for the advancement of reading in elementary schools.

As a graduate of a 'Public Ivy' institution, I have had a very well-rounded and intensive education. I earned two degrees from IU: a BA in Spanish and a BS in Biology and Chemistry. My experience involves subjects such as: Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry (General and Organic), Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Physics. I have had many students that were of the middle school, high school, and college levels. I also have some experience tutoring elementary-aged children. In all, I have between two and three years of experience.
